Ok…in this post, I am off my soapbox …. and am more relaxed.
The family was out at the farm yesterday….Marge (missed working you at the market, but am sure you enjoyed a break with your boys) and her boys (wonder dogs Ben and Jet), Mom, and Dad with their brood (Franklin and Flo-Jo). We had a lovely lunch mixed with a little work (cutting seed potatoes, weeding and gathering up of equipment).
The weather was GLORIOUS. Again, it is hard to believe it is August when it feels so much like fall! I just cannot recall weather like this before. Such a strange summer.
Anyway, a flurry of preparations are underway for fall plantings. Radishes were direct seeded and a mixture of kales went in the ground. The last plantings of beans and corn were done. With two back-to-back days of sun, I was able to till several rows that will be the new home of fall plantings (transplants to go in this week). It was relaxing and hectic all at once!
Sometimes, though, the body has just had enough. Done. Tired. Kaput. Here is where I ended up:
Here is who kept me company.
And many laps around the pasture. Then….
Flo-Jo was curled up under my armpit.
