With our first April shower (a mild, late-night thunderstorm), the locale has undergone an overnight transformation. Just last week, folks were shoveling around 6 inches of snow off the sidewalks. Today, after a different sort of moisture, the landscape has burst into a vibrant array of lush green grasses and blossoming cherry trees, pear trees, forsythia, magnolias, and hawthorn shrubs. What a dramatic change. I love it.
