Well, the weather has been windy, cold and wet, so not much has been going on at the farm.
We’ve essentially shut down the house renovations due to weather and the cost of keeping everything heated. The garden has been static, though once the rain and snow lets off, I have high hopes of spreading compost/manure and of plowing more earth.
So, what have we been working on? Well, seed orders have been steadily coming in the mail. The crop plan is set (printed out and hanging up in our bedroom, in fact). My calendar has been inked in of what I am to be doing and when. It all starts this weekend. Onion seeds will be started. Tonight, Jordan and I will tidy up a seed starting area in the house. I’ll practice making my soil blocks and then hit the ground running. Pretty much, every weekend until, I think, mid-May, I will need to be starting seeds.
No pictures today. Just a quick update to let you know we are still here, eagerly awaiting the start of the season.
